About this experience
The Ecological Sanctuary brings much of Monteverde together in one place: trails to explore, viewpoints with spectacular views, waterfalls, and coffee and banana plantations, among a wide variety of plants and animals.
It is a commitment of more than two decades to protect 30 hectares of primary and secondary forest on the Pacific slope of Monteverde. A Costa Rican family runs it with a focus on ecotourism, and the income from the tour pays for their conservation and forest-restoration projects.
